Ms. Shaw graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1984. After just 17 hours of Law School she received full scholarship for winning a Varsity Moot Court and Mock Trial competition, during law school she was also on the Dean’s List and Board of Advocates. She is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Supreme Court and a member of the Texas Bar, Dallas Bar, American Bar, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, American North Texas Society for Healthcare Risk Management, Texas Super Lawyer, and is a former Dallas Inns of Court member. Ms. Shaw is a past Committee Chair on the State Bar Rules of Evidence Committee, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers Continuing Legal Education Committee, and organizations founded upon the prevention of child abuse. She was also past Director of Young Lawyers Association.
Before starting her own boutique law firm specializing in medical law, Ms. Shaw was a partner with the law firms of Bailey & Williams as well as Fowler, Wiles, Norton & Keith. She has 38 years of trial experience focused on defending doctors as well as general civil litigation. She focuses on all aspects of doctors’ legal needs including but not limited to medical malpractice defense, compliance, regulatory issue, cyber liability, HIPAA, billing audits, Texas Medical Board complaints, Contracts, and has represented doctors in the buying and selling of medical practices. She has experience in Qui Tam (FCA), MDL (multi-district litigation), products liability and small class action issues.
Along with her litigation docket Ms. Shaw actively serves as a mediator and attorney ad litem. She has been invited to join several prestigious organizations reserved for top (1-2%) trial attorneys, such as Dallas and Texas Bar Foundation. She has a prevailing success record in trial, TROs including against the Texas Medical Board, Cigna, private insurers, MACs/CMS, and in Federal Court upholding physician/clinic’s rights.
